About Rick

Thank you for visiting my website.  You and other voters in the August 2 election have a very important job – hiring an individual to manage your tax dollars, and serve you as General Sessions Court Clerk, managing an office with over 150 employees.

Both of the candidates in this race have well-known last names and families who have worked hard to make our community a better place.  Every day I am inspired by my father’s service as Shelby County Coroner, Sheriff, County Commissioner and as Mayor for eight years.

I am a native and lifelong resident of Memphis and am committed to the future of our community.  I attended the University of Tennessee and University of Memphis. In 2010, the voters of Senate District 31 elected me to the Tennessee Republican Party State Executive Committee.  I am married to Heather Stamson Rout and am the proud father of three, and am a member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church.

I have spent most of my life in the private sector.  I have over a decade of experience managing employees at FedEx.  As an entrepreneur, I have owned and operated a successful insurance and benefits company.  Recently I joined County Government as a Process Officer/Shelby County Special Deputy and have expierenced the rewards and challenges of public service.

Thank you for giving me your consideration and I hope I can count on your vote on August 2.
